Central Library

  • The Assam Medical College Central Library was established in the year 1947 adjacent to the administrative block till June 2014, eventually it has started functioning in new premises having Ground+2 building with a total areas of 3095 sq.mtr. The Central Library mainly caters to the educational and research needs of Faculty members and

    Students (DM, M.CH. PG Degree & Diploma, MBBS, BDS, B.Sc Nursing Paramedical etc). The Central Library has an e-Centre with 30 computer terminals and wi-fi facility is provided within library building for accessing Institute’s electronic resources.

  •  The Central Library is partially automated and integrated with e-Granthalaya which is a Management     Software   with Digital Library Module   and Cloud Hosting facility  developed and maintained   by National     Informatics  Centre,   Ministry of Electronics   and Information   Technology, Government of India for   Automation and Networking of Government Libraries.  Serious efforts has been made to ensure fully   automated Library In-house services.
  • Central Library of Assam Medical College has become a member of a National level ERMED   (Electronic Resource in Medicine) Consortium since 2014 and having full-texted access high Impact   factor international Journals. Further to this, Government of India launched “One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) scheme”, as part of the Indian Government’s efforts to enhance education and research, ensuring that all educational institutions have access to high-quality academic resources. All research journals published by the 30 most reputed international publishers nearly 13,000 of scholarly e-journals which are accessible on and off campus mode to the academic community through the Information and Library Network (INFLIBNET), an autonomous inter-university centre of the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Time

  • Library remains open from 8.00 am to 10 pm (Except Sundays and Holidays). However during final phase examination, it remains open on Sundays and Holiday to provide reading facility to Institute’s academic community.
