Department of Physiology
Established as one of the very first departments in the prestigious premier institute, also, the first medical college of North East India, The department of Physiology, AMCH, is now located in the ground floor of the Basic Science Building in its left wing. The department provides medical education to the undergraduate M.B.B.S. students, BDS students, B.Sc. Nursing students and several paramedical courses including B.Sc. Medical technology. It also offers post graduate courses and has been instrumental in producing several renowned physiologists for more than 40 years. The department also conducts research in various fields of medical science. The department also conducts pulmonary function tests (PFT) for patients (both indoor and outdoor) on a regular basis. The department is equipped with hematology laboratory, human physiology laboratory, mammalian and amphibian laboratory, experimental physiology laboratory, and a yoga lab, and also a library.
